Alpaca provides the simulated brokerage account and real-time IEX market data. Cataldex provides the research, decision rules, monitoring, and member dashboard that work with it during eligible regular-market sessions.

IEX is a real-time single-exchange feed, not the consolidated all-exchange SIP feed. Prices and volume can differ from consolidated market data.

Open an Alpaca account

Use Alpaca's official signup and select Paper Trading. Paper trading is available without funding a live account.

02GENERATE

Make paper API keys

Inside Alpaca, confirm the Paper Trading banner, open API Keys, and create a paper key ID and secret.

03CONNECT

Add the keys to Cataldex

Cataldex validates them against Alpaca Paper, encrypts them, and never displays the secret again.

Who does what

Your Alpaca account stays yours.

Alpaca holds the brokerage account and processes eligible orders. Cataldex reads the authorized account information, applies your configured system profile, submits eligible instructions, and shows the decision trail.

Alpaca is the only brokerage Cataldex currently supports.

Never enter an Alpaca password in Cataldex. Paper accounts use Alpaca-issued API keys. Eligible live accounts use Alpaca's authorization screen when production access is enabled.
